Evidence led articles covering EHCPs, reviews, tribunals, and the SEN system.
If you’ve been told by your local authority (LA) that an independent special school simply “isn’t available” or is “too expensive,” you are not alone. The Government is consulting on major SEND reforms to provide faster, fairer support. Key proposals include a mandatory 'Universal Offer' of inclusive support in mainstream schools, new tiers of 'Targeted' help that do not require an EHCP and placing health specialists directly into schools. Existing EHCPs are fully protected until at least September 2030. The public is currently urged to provide feedback via consultation before any legislation is finalised.
