Sometimes this work stops you in your tracks...
A little while ago, we supported a family who had been fighting for a long time to get their child into the right school. Not just any school, the right one. The one that understood their child, had the provision they needed, and where they could genuinely thrive. The system had said no ....and more than once.
Mum was exhausted. She'd been told to be realistic, to manage her expectations, to consider other options. At the end of the day, she knew her child. She knew what they needed. She refused to stop fighting.
We worked together...through the paperwork, the meetings, the appeals process....making sure her child's needs were clearly evidenced, properly documented, and impossible to overlook.
The letter came....they got their place!
What she said to us afterwards has stayed with me. She didn't talk about the victory or the process. She just said: "He's going to be okay now. I finally feel like he's going to be okay."
That's why we do this!
Every child deserves a school where they belong. Every parent deserves to feel heard and no family should have to fight this hard alone.
